Prognosis of Amebiasis may include the period the patients suffer from the infection, other complications, chances of recovery, recovery period, rate of survival of the patient, death rates. But in case of Amebiasis all the above are unpredictable.

With proper treatment, Amebiasis can be totally controlled within two to four weeks. But if the treatment is not taken and the infection stays in the patient for longer terms, then the morality will become higher. Serious complications may develop.

Complications of Amebiasis

Amebiasis is the infection in intestine. While some people do not face much problem and live normally with the infections some face many complications. Amebiasis often leads to infection of GI tract. If proper treatment is not taken, many complications may develop in patients. Lungs may also get affected. In addition to lung problems, there is a risk of developing abscess. Abscess may develop in the abdominal cavity and affect the liver. This may some time lead to life threatening health status.
